Protect Yourself from Fraudulent Calls

Your safety comes first. Scammers are becoming increasingly convincing, and fraudsters may pretend to be a Credit Union employee to gain access to your money or account information.

That’s why we want to make one thing crystal clear:

We will NEVER ask you to:

  • Download or use a P2P payment app such as Cash App or Venmo to move your money.
  • Open an account at another financial institution.
  • Transfer funds to an account outside the Credit Union.
  • Log into online banking while we are on the phone with you.
  • Provide your username, password, or routing number
  • Give us an MFA/security code that was sent to your phone.
  • “Verify” a code you received by text or phone.

If someone calls you and asks you to do any of these things, you are NOT speaking with a Credit Union employee. You are speaking with a fraudster.

 When in doubt, HANG UP.

If a call seems odd, suspicious, extremely urgent, or simply makes you uncomfortable, trust your instincts.

HANG UP.

Then:

  1. Call us back at (716) 372-6607.
  2. Do NOT hit redial or call the number shown in your call history.  Call us at our number above or look for our number on our website and manually dial it!
  3. Ask to speak with the Credit Union employee who originally contacted you, by name.

And please don’t worry about hanging up on us.

If you hang up on a legitimate Credit Union employee, we will not be upset. We understand that protecting your information and your money is more important than completing a phone call.

In 2026, being cautious is smart. An occasional hang-up on a legitimate call is a small price to pay for protecting your financial health.

Remember: Stop. Hang up. Call us yourself.

We will never pressure you into moving your money, downloading a payment app, opening another account, or giving us your credentials or security codes.

When something doesn’t feel right, hang up and call (716) 372-6607 directly.

Your security is worth the extra step.
