Our History:
High Point Federal Credit Union is currently the 2nd largest credit union in Western New York
Recognized in the Top 200 Healthiest Credit Unions Nationwide as well as a Five Star Rating by Bauer Financial for several years.
High Point Federal Credit Union stands as a beacon of community spirit, a not-for-profit financial cooperative, woven together by the very hands of our members. For over half a century, we have been dedicated to delivering exceptional service and a wealth of financial opportunities. From checking and savings accounts to share certificates, our offerings extend to low-rate installment, home, and mortgage loans, as well as credit cards and an array of business products and services.
Founded in 1972, the Olean Dresser Clark Federal Credit Union welcomed its first members from the ranks of Dresser Clark employees. In 1991, we embraced a community charter that endures to this day, allowing us to serve a broader realm. For nostalgic reasons, “Dresser Clark” remained a cherished part of our name long after the company faded into history. To better reflect our vibrant community, we transformed our identity to Olean Area Federal Credit Union on February 19, 2002. Though we held our former name dear, the change was a long-awaited evolution.
The journey continued and on June 11, 2018, when we merged with Enchanted Mountains Federal Credit Union, expanding our presence with a full-service office and a depository ATM in Allegany, NY. On July 17, 2020, our membership horizons broadened to embrace all who live, work, worship, or study in Allegany and Cattaraugus Counties, NY, as well as McKean and Potter Counties, PA, along with their immediate families, businesses, and organizations.
In February 2021, we proudly opened a new branch at 160 South Main Street, Portville, NY, featuring full-service options, including 24-hour walk-up and drive-thru ATMs. By September of the same year, our back-office operations moved to Homer Street in Olean, further enhancing our service capabilities.
August 1, 2023, marked a significant milestone as we officially embraced the name High Point Federal Credit Union. With our field of membership expanding in 2020, our staff and board members recognized the necessity for a name that could grow alongside us.
In March 2025, we celebrated the opening of our fifth location in Bradford, PA, showcasing an updated open concept and introducing our first Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs), empowering members with 24/7 self-service options.
In September 2025, we made the decision to close our Clark Street branch. This branch was located within close proximity to several of our other full-service locations, and consolidating services allowed us to better allocate resources while continuing to offer convenient access to our members.
Today, High Point Federal Credit Union stands as one of the largest and most esteemed full-service credit unions in Western New York. With the unwavering support and trust of our members, we continue to deliver the same quality financial services that have defined our legacy for over 50 years.

Our Board of Directors is comprised of a group of volunteers elected by our membership who oversee the overall operations of the credit union. Our Supervisory Committee are volunteers appointed by the Board of Directors, who work in conjunction with them to ensure the credit union’s soundness and stability. In 2017, we established a volunteer Education Committee, also appointed by the Board of Directors, to learn the background of the credit union and work with the Board and Supervisory Committee.
